2019--Our Year in Review

Dear Sparta Community,
It is that time of year when like most non-profits we are required to file our annual report. This is the time I get to sit down and brag a little bit about what our board, together with our generous community, has accomplished in the past year. But as I sit here reflecting back to 2019, I can't help but see it through the current lens of what is happening today.

It is April, 2020 and the world now is nothing like it was then. This time last year we were in the midst of planning our 5th Annual Sparta Dragon Boat Festival, the schools were hosting their spring concerts, spring sports were just starting, and the class of 2019 was planning for prom, graduation, and life after high school. This year, large events are canceled, students are "distance learning," face masks are worn on essential trips to town, people are "social distancing," and "staying home to save lives."
